Autumn on Cape Cod and The Islands
Thursday September 25, 2007
Our journey begins with coffee + doughnuts served on our motorcoach as we meet new friends. Along the way we will take breaks and stop for lunch. The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay at the Hampton Inn at Somerset, Pennsylvania. (D)
Friday September 26
After breakfast in the Hampton Inn we’ll continue to Sturbridge, Massachusetts. Here we will enjoy dinner and stay at Sturbridge Host Hotel. (B, D)
Saturday September 27
We will enjoy breakfast in the hotel and then continue to the greater Boston area. Here we will stop in Plymouth where we have included admission to Pilgrim Hall Museum and Mayflower II. We will see Plymouth Rock and Cape Cod’s oldest village, Sandwich. Admission is included to Sandwich Glass Museum. We will see Great Salt Marsh, a Cranberry Bog and the Dunes at Sandy Neck. We will see the John Kennedy Memorial, the Korean War Memorial and St. Francis Xavier Church. As the day ends, we will check-in for a four-night stay at Gull Wing Suites in South Yarmouth. (B, D)
Sunday September 28
After breakfast at Gull Wing Suites we’ll enjoy a scenic ride out Route 6-A to the end of Cape Cod and the storied village of Provincetown. Here we catch a boat for our Whale Watching Excursion. The rest of the day is spent exploring Cape Cod. After dinner we can relax again at Gull Wing Suites. (B, D)
Monday September 29
Breakfast starts a busy day. Today we’ll take a boat to Nantucket Island. We’ll take a driving tour but there will be plenty of time for you to explore on your own, too. So much history, so much charm and so much to see! After dinner you can climb into your now-familiar bed at Gull Wings Suites. (B, D)
Tuesday September 30
After breakfast at Gull Wing Suites we’ll board yet another boat for the trip to Martha’s Vineyard. Quaint villages and interesting architecture make this island an east-coast favorite getaway. We will tour the island but you will have free time to explore the shops and enjoy an relaxing lunch on your own. After a farewell Cape Cod Lobster Dinner, we’ll spend our last night at Gull Wings Suites. (B, D)
Wednesday October 1
We will depart from Gull Wings Suites after breakfast. During our travels we will take a riding tour of Newport, Rhode Island. Passing by Mystic, Connecticut, we will stop at Olde Mistick Village. Dinner tonight is the Festival Buffet at Foxwoods Casino Resort. Our rooms tonight are in the Great Cedar Hotel at the Resort. Please note that you do not have to register with the casino or have a “players card” to eat or stay in the Resort. (B, D)
Thursday October 2
The breakfast buffet at Foxwoods Casino Resort starts our day and then we’ll head into the Big Apple. We’ll take a riding tour of New York City and see some of its highlights. We will depart from “the City” and check-in at Country Inn + Suites in Elizabeth, New Jersey. We can spend some time this evening relaxing at Jersey Outlet Mall. (B)
Friday October 3
After breakfast in the hotel, we will continue our trip and enjoy a busy day of touring. Today we will tour the Jersey Central Railroad Station and the Asa Packer Mansion. We will enjoy a buffet lunch at The Emerald Restaurant and Molly MacGuires Pub of the Inn at Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. Our tour here takes us to the Old Jail Museum and Hickory Run State Park. Our day ends with dinner at The Inn at Nichols Village, where we also will spend the night. (B, L, D)
Saturday October 4
Breakfast at The Inn at Nichols Village begins another busy day of touring. Today we will visit Lackawanna Coal Mine and tour Scranton. We’ll stop at the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple of the Scottish Rite. The Lunch at Carmen’s of Lackawanna Station Hotel is a delight! For our final night of touring, we will enjoy a dinner buffet and some entertainment at our hotel, Ramada Historic Ligonier in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. (B, L, D)
Sunday October 5
After breakfast in the hotel, we will pack our bags for the final time and continue our journey home. We can share good memories of beautiful scenery, lively history and good food as we travel with our new-found friends. (B)

At that time we will send you a luggage tag. The color of that luggage tag indicates your departure and return point for the tour. Please be sure that the departure point that we indicate on the detailed itinerary is where you will be and where you will finish the tour. If you want to begin or end your tour at a different point, please be sure that we know that.
If you have specific requests for your lodging, please make sure we are aware of that soon. Requests such as smoking/non-smoking, stairs, handicap and others can be made when we send in rooming lists. Please let us know as soon as possible if you have such requests.
